Yamana Gold Inc. said Wednesday that it has decided to go ahead with the construction of its C1 Santa Luz in Brazil and its Mercedes gold-silver projects in Mexico. "These advanced development stage growth projects are part of Yamana's core philosophy of focusing on quality as well as quantity of production at comparatively low cash costs and in stable mining jurisdictions," the company said in a statement.
The decisions came in a moment where Yamana is restructurating its operations, having sold three of its projects (two in Brazil and one in Honduras) and declared commercial production at its Gualcamayo mine in Argentina.
