Australian junior miner Centamin reported on Monday it has extracted its first gold from the Sukari mine in Egypt's desert. The company commissioned facilities to process 4 million tonnes of ore a year and aims to extract 200,000 ounces of gold a year over a 15-year mine life. Resources at the site are estimated at 13 million ounces of the precious metal, and an average of 1.87 g/t of gold is forecasted to the mining period.
