German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp expects to receive by November new formal bids for its units in Brazil and the U.S., after a first round of non-binding offers in October. Brazilian newspaper “Valor Econômico” said two groups – Brazil’s CSN and Italian-Argentinian Ternium – may bid for both plants, while five other candidates are only interested in the U.S. plant.
Thyssen has invested US$ 10 billion in the plants but market analysts believe in a US$ 4.5-billion price tag for the pair.
