Statoil starts production at Visand South field in the North Sea

Norwegian state-owned oil developer Statoil said on Friday it has already started output at its newest venture, the Visund South field in the North Sea. The area holds an estimated 67 million barrels of oil equivalent, with natural gas accounting for three quarters of the volume. Statoil is investing some US$ 985 million in Visund South, which is comprised of two findings, Pan and Pandora.
