A 2.0-degree earthquake hit the U.S. state of New Jersey early on Monday, in a possible consequence of hurricane Sandy. Some residents in northern part of the state awoke to the quake, centered in the city of Ringwood – which is still dealing with downed trees and power outages from Sandy. The quake had an epicenter of just 4.8 kilometers below ground and could also be felt in six other cities. The police say there are no reports of damage.
