State-owned miner Korea Resources Corporation signed on Sunday an agreement with Greenland-focused mining group NunaMinerals to seek opportunities for joint minerals projects, exploiting deposits of rare earths and other strategic metals. The Arctic territory is home of some of the world's biggest deposits of rare earth elements, an important market in which China has a near monopoly.
No money was involved under the memorandum, which also sets a partnership for tungsten and cobalt.
