Chinese iron ore imports at highest level in two years

Chinese iron ore imports rose 17% in November from the previous month, reaching its highest mark in almost two years, according to customs data released on Monday, as steelmakers stocked up on the steelmaking raw material. Imports totaled 65.78 million tonnes in November, their highest since January 2011. In the first 11 months of 2012 imports reached 672.9 million tonnes, up 8% percent compared to the same period of 2011.
