Australian junior iron ore developer BC Iron is holding talks with Fortescue Metals to get a majority stake of its Nullagine joint venture. BC plans to raise its stake at the project to 75% from 50%, paying some US$ 200 million for Fortescue’s share. As of the end of June, Nullagine was estimated to hold 42.4 million tonnes of ore grading 57% iron content. Output from the project is due to rise to around 6 million tonnes in 2013 from 3.5 million tonnes in 2012.
