Acron may mine rare earth metals in future phosphate complex

Russian fertilizer company Acron said it will start phosphate output in a new plant in Murmansk in July, and is considering to mine rare earth metals such as neodimium and lanthanum at the site. Acron’s core business is nitrogen-based fertilizers but it is diversifying into phosphates and potash to be self-sufficient in the production of so-called NPK complex fertilizers.
